On April 22, 2026, the construction of the cross-provincial cableway linking Nizhu River Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Xuanwei, Yunnan Province and Yeyuhai National Tourist Resort in Liupanshui, Guizhou Province officially commenced. Undertaken by Tai'an Ruiteng Cableway Engineering Co., Ltd., the project marks a crucial step in the integrated cultural and tourism development between Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces, kicking off the full-scale construction of a brand-new cross-provincial cultural and tourism passage.

The groundbreaking ceremony was grandly held at the construction site of Yejiping Green Forest Hotel in Yeyuhai Scenic Area. The dynamic flash mob dance Victory Unfurls opened the ceremony. Representatives of the project owner, constructor and all cooperating units gathered to witness this major milestone for cultural and tourism development. At the ceremony, the project owner gave a full briefing on the project planning layout, development positioning and long-term development prospects. Person-in-charge of Shuicheng District Tourism Investment Group of Liupanshui City elaborated on the strategic significance of the project for the integrated cultural and tourism development of Yunnan-Guizhou regions. The construction side made solemn commitments to project construction quality, work safety, standardized construction and construction schedule. In the end, participating leaders and guests cut the ribbon together, officially launching the full-scale construction of the cableway project.

Cai Xiong, Chairman of Xuanwei Yatuo Tourism Development Co., Ltd., a core cooperative party of the project, stated that the cross-provincial Yeyuhai cableway project is of great significance to the cultural and tourism integration of Yunnan and Guizhou. On the one hand, the cableway directly connects Yeyuhai National Tourist Resort in Guizhou and the 4A-level Nizhu River Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Xuanwei, realizing seamless connection between the two high-quality scenic spots. On the other hand, it enables complementary advantages of cultural and tourism resources of the two places, expanding new development space and injecting fresh vitality into Xuanwei’s cultural and tourism industry.

Relevant project information shows that the Yeyuhai Cableway is invested and built by Liupanshui Xingu Tourism Development Co., Ltd., with the whole-process design and construction undertaken by Beijing General Machinery Design & Research Institute. Stretching 3.2 kilometers in total length, the cableway features a maximum elevation drop of 1,100 meters and a designed passenger capacity of 1,500 people per hour. The whole project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in June 2027.

Wu Jian, General Manager of Tai'an Ruiteng Cableway Engineering Co., Ltd., introduced that the project involves a large construction volume, which will be carried out in two phases: civil engineering and equipment installation. All foundation civil works are expected to be completed by the end of November this year, followed by full-scale equipment installation. All installation and commissioning work will be finished by late June 2027 for official operation.

Upon completion, the cableway will completely break the traffic barrier between Xuanwei and Liupanshui. The nearly two-hour drive between the two places will be greatly shortened to merely 15 minutes, truly realizing the vision of "one cableway spanning two provinces, touring two scenic spots in one day" and greatly facilitating tourist travels. In addition, the project will directly create 35 jobs and indirectly drive stable employment for over a hundred local residents. Relying on the connection advantage of the cableway, the two places will integrate featured resources including mountain ecology, canyon scenery and leisure vacation services, deepen Yunnan-Guizhou cultural and tourism cooperation, diversify all-for-one tourism formats, continuously unleash cultural and tourism consumption potential, and inject strong impetus into regional rural revitalization and industrial upgrading and efficiency improvement.
